My parents were writers, and I learned how to agonise over fiction submissions at my mother’s (and father’s) knee.
I have two daughters, a son, a granddaughter and a grandson (who inspired my first published story when he broke my laptop keyboard. Unlike in the story, a magical creature didn’t come out of the laptop and fix my life). I speak five languages and can say, “Please read this” in all of them.
I was Editor of Prescriber’s Journal, sent by the NHS to all doctors, dentists and pharmacists in the UK, from 1997 to 1999.
I started writing in 2009, beginning with my column in The Jewish News, which I wrote for three years. I still write feature articles for them. I’ve also had non-fiction published in magazines, for example Your Family Tree and Best of British.
My first story, Reboot, mentioned above, was published in 2012.
I was Science Fiction Editor of Red Sun Magazine.
At the start of Lockdown, my learning disabled son and I began visiting local parks and open spaces each week, and we’ve been doing it ever since. We’ve visited over 200, and I blog about the best ones – the link’s here http://www.frs.org.uk/parkoftheweek
